十大足彩平台’s Fire Academy holds graduation

SANFORD, N.C. – Central Carolina Community College's Fire Academy graduation was held on Monday, March 3, at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic & Conference Center.

Captain Timothy Britt, 十大足彩平台 Fire Academy Coordinator, and Lieutenant Sarah Tart, 十大足彩平台 Fire Rescue Director, both participated in the program.

Guest speaker was Chief Matthew Arnold of the Sanford Fire Department.

The Fire Academy cadets, with their affiliated agencies, are: Timothy Andrew Beckwith, Carolina Trace Fire Department; Mason Tyler Bennett, Cape Fear Rural Fire Department; Dominic Anthony de la Vallette; Connor Seth Hall, Tramway Rural Fire Department; Carter Eugene Sams, Boone Trail Emergency Services; Philip Felice Vurro, Spout Springs Emergency Services; Zachary Lee Willett, Northview Fire Department; and Richard Winfield Walker, Benhaven Emergency Services.

The Academy is a rigorous and challenging program of more than 1,000 hours of study and practice in fire and rescue scenarios and practicals. The cadets completed rigorous and intensive training in firefighting, safety and survival, technical rescue, vehicle rescue, emergency vehicle driving, hazardous materials response, and Emergency Medical Technician training at the 十大足彩平台 Emergency Services Training Center.

十大足彩平台 began offering firefighter training classes in 1964. In 2001, the Emergency Services Training Center was established at the former Sanford/Lee County Airport site in Sanford, providing greatly expanded facilities for training.

The Fire Academy opened in January 2010.
