SANFORD, N.C. – Heather McKenzie is recipient of the Central Carolina Community College Excellence in Advising Award for 2024-2025. She is 十大足彩平台 Career Coach, Lee County High School and Ascend Leadership.

She was nominated for the award by Dr. Sara Newcomb, 十大足彩平台 Dean of Business and Applied Technologies.

Dr. Newcomb says that McKenzie is an outstanding example of excellence in advising. "She consistently goes above and beyond her advising duties at Lee County High School, working with students in the CAT Apprenticeship program and taking time to meet students where they are to ensure their success,: says Dr. Newcomb.

"She relates to the students and is 100% real with them, which is why I think they feel comfortable in turning to her so frequently. She practices an open door policy that all advisors should strive to emulate. She even goes above and beyond her duties and participates willingly in on-campus events.

"Heather does all the right things to be a great advisor, then goes even a step further to become an outstanding one. The students at LCHS have a meaningful experience as a part of the CCP program at 十大足彩平台 because of her hard work, leadership, and welcoming demeanor,” says Dr. Newcomb.
